Who knew ONE year would pass so quickly! Riley really, really enjoyed her party, staying up into the late hours of the evening! (Going to bed is not something we have mastered!)
Riley was surrounded by great family for her birthday celebration, which we had at Grandma & Grandpa L.'s house. Aunt Amy took care of making sure Riley had the perfect outfit to ring in her 1st with, an adorable red jumper with a cupcake on it! Too cute! It matched her cake, which made it even more special! Aunt Heather worked until the wee hours of the morning on Riley's special cake! She, as you can see in the pictures took a second or two to figure out that her birthday cake was edible, and it was all hers! Once she got going though, she got straight down to business! She also was making sure everyone knows she is now one, holding her little tiny finger up to prove it! It really meant a lot to us to have all the family around, just another reminder of how lucky (& truly thankful) we are! It really was a great day, and it almost makes me sad to think she is only getting older, but seriously, what a great year it has been!
One more thing.... The party took place on Sat. January 10th, Chad's, birthday. It just so happens, we brought Riley home that day from the hospital as well! So here is a little Happy Birthday shout to Chad!
